The goal of this work package is to build, test and document language processing chains (LPCs) for text annotation. A processing chain for a given language includes a number of existing tools (the number depends on the language). Existing tools, however, need to be adjusted and/or fine-tuned to match the requirements of the project and also because some tools depend on the correct output of other tools. In this sense, a language processing chain does not require development of new software modules but rather fine-tuning and combining existing tools assembled into a larger software component. Significant work will be required for the adaptation of existing tools in order to make them interoperable and suitable to real-life production environments.
