Dr. Ćavar is an Assistant Professor of computational linguistics in the University of Zadar. His professional experience involves research and teaching in Germany, the U.S.A., Croatia, and Slovenia in the domain of computational linguistics and language technology, in the domain of University level education (director of the computational linguistics program at Indiana University, head of the Computational Linguistics group at the Institute of Croatian Language and Linguistics in Zagreb) as well as industry (project manager, consultant).
