Icelanders have this beautiful tradition of giving books to each other on Christmas Eve and then spending the night reading. According to BBC News, "The country has more writers, books published and books read, per head, than anywhere else in the world… One in 10 Icelanders will publish [a book]." We always give books as presents since our trip to Iceland in 2012! Don't waste time and money for Christmas shopping - the next door bookstore has all the presents you need for your beloved :)
